Impromptu Outing - Pt Dalhousie Lighthouse
This is an impromptu outing.
I am planning to do some long exposure night photography of the Pt. Dalhousie Lighthouse, weather permitting, on Saturday Oct. 25, 2014. If you are interesting in joining me, we will meet in the parking lot at the end of the North Pier for 6:15 pm and walk out as the sun sets. Dress warm as it can get quite chilly at the end of the pier. You may also want to consider picking up pocket warmers to keep the dew from forming on your lens and to keep your gear warm.
Again this is weather permitting. Keep an eye on this blog as I will broadcast a cancellation notice if the weather doesn't cooperate.

Shorthills Hike Schedule Change for Saturday October 25th
Shorthills Hike Schedule Change for Saturday October 25th
"Fall colours in the ravine valleys of the Shorthills Provincial Park have become so vibrant this past week with the recent leaf fall that a change in schedule appears warranted. So, instead off meeting up at the Grindstone Creek Boardwalk in Hamilton we will now meet up at 9:00 a.m. at the Wiley Road entrance of the Shorthills Park for a quick tour of at least four or five nearby waterfalls (Level of difficulty: higher moderate)
The weather looks perfect for waterfall shooting, so hopefully we will see a nice turnout!"

McLean’s Autowreckers - Fall Outing
Saturday October, 11, 2014.
We had an
interesting shoot at McLean ’s in the spring of
this year and wanted to offer the opportunity to take advantage of the fall
colour in this magnificent setting. There is always something new to shoot, or
something that has changed from the last time you were there. Incidentally,
this location is equally productive for the Infrared shooter!
The
owner, John McLean, doesn’t expect anything however we like to collect $5 from
each participant to pass along to John for allowing us the privilege of
shooting on his 50+ acres of treasures and if you have any shots to share we
will pass them along to him.

SHORTHILLS AND ESCARPMENT WEEKLY FALL PHOTO WALKS
Shorthills and the surrounding Niagara Escarpment are beautiful to photograph this time of the year! In response to several member requests I am going to be running a twice-weekly photo meet-up and walk in the various scenic areas around Shorthills Provincial Park and the Niagara Escarpment during the Fall 2014 photography season. We will be offering a wide range of tours this year, from easy to challenging, tailored to the group's wide range of abilities and fitness. We will be shooting beautiful fall landscapes, waterfalls, and wildlife and, hopefully, lots of colour. I guarantee that you will discover many interesting spots and subjects that you would never otherwise find on your own.
Come and join in on the fun! Tentatively, rain-or-shine hikes will be held on each Tuesday evening commencing at not later than 6:00 pm sharp (until Oct 29th) as long as the light is good and it is not pouring rain, and each Saturday morning (until Nov 29th) commencing at 9:00 am sharp as long as it is not pouring rain. Don't let cloudy or stormy weather be a deterrent. Those are often the best days to shoot fall colours and waterfalls. In case of really inclement weather on Saturdays, the hikes may be postponed until the next day (ie: the Sunday) at noon.
Here is my tentative calendar of events (be sure to check back in the Blog as dates draw near, since weather conditions and last minute changes are inevitable):
