War of 1812 Bicentennial Re-Enactment

On Saturday June 8, 2013, Grimsby's history will come alive for the re-enactment of the "Engagement at The Forty". Activities are scheduled to take place at the Grimsby 1812 Bicentennial Peace Garden and Pumphouse Park. The event run from 1-5 pm. Some of the activities include:

- Demonstrations of camp life circa 1812
- Interactive dancing and games for children
- Performances by the Grimsby Pipe Band

The main event will be a land and naval re-eneactment with ship's boats, artillery, infantry, Canadian militia and First Nations allies; a time-compressed but evocative re-enactment of the actual events on the day.

Check out www.grimsbywarof1812.blogspot.ca for more information.
